Urologist perform medical and surgical treatment to patients with disorders of the kidney, urinary bladder and urethra and treat disorders of the male sex organ. They work in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries.  Most of the nurses are employed in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries. 
 
Minimum requirements for urologist include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration. 
 
 

Job Description

  • review the patient’s medical history, physical conditions and reaction to the medication and perform diagnostic tests such as radiograph (x-ray) machines and fluoroscopes 
  • perform abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries
  • treat urologic disorders using alternatives to traditional surgery such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, lapDIaroscopy, and laser techniques
  • prescribe post-operative care, and monitor patients' progress
  • maintain records of operations
