Clinical Haematologists investigate and diagnose blood and other genetic disorders by studying the cellular composition of blood and blood-producing tissues. They work primarily in Healthcare and Social Assistance industry. 

Minimum requirements for clinical haematologists include bachelor’s degree, relevant work experience, and registration. 

 

Job Description

  • perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures to determine the nature and extent of problems like white blood cell count (WBC), red blood cell count (RBC), platelet count, hematocrit red blood cell volume (HCT) and hemoglobin concentration (HB)
  • prescribe and administers drugs, as well as a remedial and therapeutic treatment and procedures 
  • record patients’ medical information and data
  • inform government health and immigration authorities about specified contagious and notifiable diseases
