Medical Diagnostic Radiographers operate X-rays, MRI, ultrasound and other medical imaging equipment to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with injuries and diseases. 
 
Medical Diagnostic Radiographers work in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries.  Minimum requirements for this occupation include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration.
 
 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • receive a referral to conduct medical imaging of patients 
  • determines the appropriate equipment to use and the settings required to perform diagnostic techniques 
  • perform radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images 
  • submit examination findings to physicians and other medical personnel 
  • may help with radiologists and surgeons to perform more complex radiological examinations 
  • ensure radiation safety in the work area
