Pathologists identify the cause and processes of illness and disease by evaluating the changes in the blood, tissue and bodily fluids and perform tests on samples of tissues, blood and body secretions.They work in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries. 
 
Minimum requirements for pathologist include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration.  
 
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • perform tests on body samples to identify the nature, stage of development and a possible source of illness. 
  • help doctors in conducting diagnosis, treatment and management decisions in hospitals and clinics
  • performs autopsies
  • research and apply scientific knowledge and skills to investigate crimes by analysis of biological and physical evidence
