Registered Nurses (Critical Care and Emergency) administer nursing care to critically ill patients and patients with unstable health due to injury, surgery or during the acute phase of diseases, incorporating new technological equipment in high dependency units, intensive care units, emergency departments and retrieval services. 
 
Most of the nurses are employed in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries. Minimum requirements for registered nurses include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration. 
 
 

Job Description

  • prepare, implement and assess nursing care for patients according to nursing practice and standards
  • consult with other health staff members and coordinating the care of patients
  • provide interventions, therapies and treatments and monitor responses to treatment and care plans
  • support ill-health prevention through participation in health education and other related programs 
  • disclose information to patients and families about care and treatment 
  • manage the work of enrolled nurses and other health care workers
