Podiatrist diagnoses, treat and prevent fee disorders. Common duties include: 
 
  • check patients' feet to verify the conditions, deformities, injuries and disabilities like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis peripheral vascular disorders, and other neuropathies
  • prescribe and arrange the fabrication of footwear 
  • perform minor surgery to remove and improve abnormal conditions
  • prescribe and fit replaceable pads, palliative and functional supports and other devices to protect and correct foot abnormalities
 
Podiatrists work in many parts of Australia, with Victoria having the largest share of Podiatrists. They work primarily in the Healthcare and Social Assistance industry. In recent years, Podiatrist has shown growth and is predicted to continue in the future.
