Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologists diagnose, treat and monitor patients with general radiography, ultrasound, angiography, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry and other imaging procedures. They work in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries. 
 
Minimum requirements for diagnostic and interventional radiologist include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration.  
 
 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • inspect internal structures and functions of organ systems by performing diagnostic test such as general radiography, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, angiography,computed tomography, MRI, bone densitometry and nuclear medicine 
  • provide radiopaque substances to render internal structures and organs visible on x-ray films or fluoroscope screens
  • advise patients, physicians, surgeons or other doctors based on the test results 
  • keep and maintain patient’s records
