Medical imaging professionals use radiation-producing and imaging equipment for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of patients under the supervision of Radiologists and other Medical Practitioners. Common duties are:

receive referrals from medical practitioners to conduct medical imaging and radiation treatment of patients

use X-ray equipment, radiation scanners, fluoroscopes, ultrasound equipment, nuclear instrumentation and computed tomography (CT) equipment to provide the diagnostic results requested by Medical Practitioners

explain procedures to patients and answer patients' inquiries about processes

ensure patients' welfare during procedures

submit findings of procedures to Medical Practitioners

Full-time work is common. Minimum requirements for Specialist Physician include bachelor’s degree, relevant work experience and registration.
