Registered Nurses (Developmental Disability) give nursing care to people with mental and developmental disabilities in health, welfare and community settings. Most of the nurses are employed in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries. 
 
Minimum requirements for registered nurses include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration. 
 
 
 

Job Description

  • prepare, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients as per nursing practice and standards
  • consult with other health staff members and work together for the care of patients
  • provide interventions, therapies and treatments and monitor responses to care and treatment plans 
  • support ill-health prevention through participation in health education and other related activities 
  • disclose information to patients and families about care and treatment 
  • oversee the work of enrolled nurses and other health care workers
