Registered Nurses (Perioperative) evaluate patients' condition, prepare nursing care for surgical intervention, help anesthetists and surgeons during surgery, and monitor patients' recovery from anesthetic before returning to, or discharge from ward.
 
Most of the nurses are employed in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries. Minimum requirements for registered nurses include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration. 
 
 

Job Description

  • plan, carry out and assess nursing care for patients as per nursing practice and standards. 
  • consult with other health staff members and work together to care of patients. 
  • facilitate therapies, treatments and interventions and monitor responses to care and treatment plans  
  • promote health education through participation in health-related initiatives  
  • give information to patients and families about care and treatment  
  • manage the work of enrolled nurses and other health care workers
