Plastic and reconstructive surgeons perform surgeries to reconstruct and repair muscle and tissue injuries and congenital deformities. They work in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries.  Most of the nurses are employed in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries. 
 
Minimum requirements for plastic and reconstructive surgeons include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration. 
 
 

Job Description

  • review the patient’s medical history, physical conditions and reaction to the medication  
  • perform surgery with patients that have abnormal structures of the body due to congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, tumours or disease
  • perform cosmetic surgeries on patients who want to augment and/or beautify certain body parts like rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, liposuction 
  • prescribe post-operative care, and monitor patients' progress
  • maintain records of operations
