Nurse Practitioner deliver extensive and advanced nursing care to patients, (order diagnostic tests, perform diagnosis and health examinations, prescribe patient care management, therapies and medicines), with authorization from relevant nursing legislation, and referral to specialist Medical Practitioners and other Health Professionals in health, welfare and community settings. (Disability and Rehabilitation) provide nursing care to patients recovering from illness and injury and help patients with disabilities to live more independently.
 
Most of the nurse practitioner are employed in the Health Care and Social Assistance industries. Minimum requirements for nurse practitioner include a bachelor’s degree, relevant experience, and registration. 
 
 

Job Description

  • prepare, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients as per nursing practice and standards. 
  • consult with other health staff members and work together to care of patients
  • facilitate therapies, treatments and interventions and monitor responses to treatment and care plans 
  • promote health education through participation in health-related initiatives 
  • provide care and treatment information to patients and families 
  • supervise the work of enrolled nurses and other health care workers.
